As a young immigrant kid (Muslim, Algerian, Imazigh) growing up in the tough section of Marseille called La Castellane, Zinedine Zidane would never have imagined in his wildest dreams what you see before you in the picture above: his name decorating L'Arc de Triumph, the symbol of France with all its historic grandeur, with millions of people flooding the streets of Paris, the likes never to have been seen since D-Day 1945, chanting merci Zizou, allez les bleus, and vive la France!
Merci Zizou, thank you very much for what you have done for soccer, for what you have accomplished for France, and for what you have achieved for those amongst its citizens who are considered less simply because of their origin...
